Uptime.com Pricing: Plans, Cost per Check and SMS Alert Limits Compared

Uptime.com prices monitoring per check: $9 a month for 10 basic checks and 25 SMS alerts, rising in flat steps to $750 for 1,000 checks. Every tier from their own calculator, the monthly SMS and call allowance and how fast it runs out, what the add-ons cost, and where a flat unlimited plan comes out cheaper.

Put an endpoint under monitoring

Email alerts on every plan, phone call and SMS from Professional. Plans from $29 a month.

Uptime.com prices Website Monitoring by the number of checks you buy: $9 a month for 10 basic checks, 1 advanced check and 25 SMS alerts, or $84 a year on annual billing, which works out to $7 a month. Every tier checks at 1 minute intervals, includes unlimited users and keeps 24 months of check history. SMS and phone call alerts come from a monthly allowance that resets on the 1st, and each down and each recovery message to each number counts against it.

That makes Uptime.com one of the cheapest ways to buy 1 minute checks for a small estate. Where the bill gets interesting is in the two things the headline price does not show: how fast the alert allowance runs out on a bad night, and what happens to the price once you go past a few hundred checks.

How much does Uptime.com cost?

These are the Website Monitoring tiers from the subscription calculator on Uptime.com's own pricing page, read in September 2026. The annual column is the yearly price divided by 12.

Basic checks Advanced checks SMS and call alerts per month Monthly price Annual, per month
10 1 25 $9 $7
25 3 50 $19 $15
50 5 75 $38 $30
100 10 100 $75 $60
200 15 200 $150 $120
300 20 350 $225 $180
400 30 500 $300 $240
500 50 750 $375 $300
750 75 1,000 $562 $450
1,000 100 1,500 $750 $600

The calculator continues to 30,000 basic checks at $13,343 a month. Above 1,000 checks the alert allowance stops growing: it stays at 1,500 a month up to 5,000 checks and tops out at 2,000.

The price per check is remarkably flat. It is $0.90 per basic check per month on the entry tier and about $0.75 from 100 checks upward, or roughly $0.60 on annual billing. There is no big volume discount waiting at the top, which matters for anyone pricing several hundred endpoints.

What is included in every Uptime.com plan

The feature list is the same at every tier, and it is generous:

  • 1 minute check frequency on basic and advanced checks
  • Unlimited users, so seats never add to the bill
  • 24 months of check history retention
  • Email and SMS alerting, phone alerts and 20+ integrations such as Slack
  • Maintenance windows, escalations, group checks and customizable reports, including SLA reports
  • 12 check locations, with 3 locations used per check

Basic checks cover HTTP(S), SSL certificate, DNS, ping, TCP and UDP ports, SMTP, IMAP, POP, SSH, NTP, FTP(S), domain blacklist, malware and WHOIS. Advanced checks cover API monitoring, transaction and micro transaction checks, page speed, webhooks, heartbeat (cron) monitoring and third party service monitoring. Paid plans come with a 30 day guarantee. There is no permanent free plan on the pricing page.

What Uptime.com add-ons cost

Three add-ons sit on top of the monitoring tier, and a team that needs them should price them in from the start:

Add-on Entry tier Monthly Annual, per month
Status pages 1 page, 250 subscribers $13 $10
Status pages 4 pages, 2,500 subscribers $38 $30
Extra probe locations 86 locations, 5 per check $38 $30
Extra probe locations 106 locations, 15 per check $69 $55
Real user monitoring 50,000 data points a month $7 $5

A small SaaS team that wants 25 checks, a public status page and wider location coverage is at $19 plus $13 plus $38, or $70 a month before any upgrade for alerts.

Does Uptime.com charge for SMS alerts?

Not per message, but SMS and calls are capped. Uptime.com's help center says every account has a set number of SMS and phone call alerts per month, determined by the subscription tier and reset on the 1st of each month. Each individual SMS or call counts, for the DOWN alert and again for the UP notification when the check recovers, and for each phone number on the contact.

Their own example: an account with a limit of 20 a month and a check that goes down 5 times uses 10 messages for one contact, one down and one up per outage. Put three people on the contact and the same five outages use 30. On the 25 check tier with 50 alerts a month, three on-call phones cover about eight outages before the allowance is gone for the month. Escalations to a second group and calls on top of texts draw from the same pool.

If you need more, the pricing FAQ says to select the next tier. There is no separate SMS pack, so a team that runs out of texts on 25 checks moves to the 50 check tier at $38 even if it never adds a monitor. This is the same pattern we laid out for Pingdom's SMS credit bundles and, with prepaid credits instead of an allowance, for UptimeRobot SMS and voice call credits.

How Uptime.com compares on price with TrackDowntime

We sell a competing monitor, so read this with that in mind. The comparison is honest in both directions, and for small estates it does not favor us.

Endpoints monitored Uptime.com monthly TrackDowntime monthly Uptime.com annual, per month TrackDowntime annual, per month
5 to 10 $9 (10 checks) $29 Starter (5, 5 minute checks) $7 $14
25 $19 $99 Professional $15 $49
100 $75 $299 Enterprise $60 $149
300 $225 $299 Enterprise $180 $149
650 $562 (750 tier) $299 Enterprise $450 $149
1,000 $750 $299 Enterprise $600 $149

Where Uptime.com wins. Under about 400 checks on monthly billing, or about 250 on annual, Uptime.com is cheaper, often by a lot. It checks every minute on the entry tier where our Starter checks every 5 minutes. It keeps 24 months of history where our Professional keeps 90 days. It offers transaction checks, many more check types, multiple probe locations and status pages, none of which we sell. A team of engineers that wants breadth for the least money should buy Uptime.com.

Where TrackDowntime wins. Two places. First, alerts: Professional and Enterprise include automated phone calls and SMS with no allowance and no per message billing, and the call repeats at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes and onward until the endpoint recovers, to every number in the list. On an allowance plan, a repeating escalation to three people is exactly what burns the month's texts in one night. Second, scale: Enterprise is a flat $299 a month for unlimited endpoints with history that does not expire, so the 650 endpoint estate that costs $562 a month on Uptime.com costs $299 here, and adding a client or an instance never changes the bill. The breakdown is on our uptime monitor pricing page.

How to size an Uptime.com plan before you buy

Count three numbers, not one:

  1. Checks. Every URL, API route, SSL certificate and port is a separate check. A single SaaS product usually needs five to eight, and SSL and domain expiry are basic checks of their own, so the count climbs faster than the number of sites.
  2. Alerts per month. Multiply the phones on the contact by two messages per outage, then by the outages you had in your worst month last year. If that is more than the tier's allowance, you are buying the next tier for texts, not for checks.
  3. Add-ons. A status page, extra locations or RUM each add a line. Price them before you compare with a vendor that bundles or does not offer them.

If monitoring is one of a dozen subscriptions that renew without anyone reading the invoice, it is worth putting the whole stack through a SaaS spend review once a year. Monitoring bills grow a tier at a time and rarely shrink by themselves.

For a SaaS product, the endpoint list that matters and why the check interval is part of your SLA arithmetic are covered on the page for SaaS uptime monitoring. The wider comparison of eight vendors is in uptime monitoring pricing and cost per site.

Uptime.com pricing questions

How much does Uptime.com cost per month? Uptime.com Website Monitoring starts at $9 a month for 10 basic checks, 1 advanced check and 25 SMS alerts, or $7 a month billed annually at $84 a year. Tiers step up with the check count: $19 for 25 checks, $75 for 100, $375 for 500 and $750 for 1,000. Status pages, extra locations and real user monitoring are priced separately.

Does Uptime.com have a free plan? No free plan is listed on Uptime.com's pricing page. Paid plans come with a 30 day guarantee, and the entry tier at $9 a month is the lowest published price. Teams that need a permanent free tier usually look at vendors with free plans, which typically come with longer check intervals and commercial use restrictions.

Are SMS alerts unlimited on Uptime.com? No. Each tier includes a monthly allowance of SMS and phone call alerts, from 25 on the entry tier to 2,000 on the largest, reset on the 1st of each month. Every down and every recovery message to every phone number counts. When the allowance runs out, Uptime.com's pricing FAQ says to move to the next tier.

What is the difference between basic and advanced checks on Uptime.com? Basic checks test availability with a single request, such as HTTP(S), ping, DNS, SSL certificate, port or domain expiry. Advanced checks simulate more complex behavior: API monitoring, scripted transactions, page speed, webhooks, heartbeat monitoring and third party services. Tiers include far fewer advanced checks, from 1 on the entry tier to 100 at 1,000 basic checks.

How long does Uptime.com keep monitoring history? Uptime.com lists 24 months of check history retention on its plans, which is longer than most uptime monitors publish. For comparison, TrackDowntime keeps 30 days on Starter, 90 days on Professional and history with no expiry on Enterprise. Retention matters most when you need downtime evidence for an SLA dispute or a hosting credit.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Uptime.com for hundreds of websites? Yes, once the estate is large. Uptime.com prices every check at roughly $0.60 to $0.75 a month, so 650 endpoints cost $562 a month on the 750 check tier. TrackDowntime Enterprise is a flat $299 a month, or $149 billed annually, for unlimited endpoints with phone call and SMS alerts included. For under about 250 checks, Uptime.com is usually cheaper.
