Pingdom Pricing: Pingdom Cost Per Uptime Check, Full Price Table and Cost at Scale

Pingdom prices uptime monitoring by the number of checks you buy, on a slider with 22 steps. The entry step is $18 a month for 10 uptime checks, 1 advanced check and 50 SMS alerts, or $16.50 a month on annual billing. From there it climbs to $149 a month for 100 checks, $680 for 500 and $1,295 for 1,000, with the price per check falling slowly from $1.80 to about $0.95 at the top. Users are unlimited, but there is no voice call alert on any tier.

Those are the figures on Pingdom's own pricing page in September 2026, read from the values its subscription calculator uses. Below is the whole table, what the price per check really works out to, where the annual discount lands, and how Pingdom compares at 25, 100 and 650 endpoints with a flat plan that includes phone calls.

How much does Pingdom cost per month?

Pingdom sells two products on separate sliders: Synthetic Monitoring, which is uptime, page speed and transaction checks, and Real User Monitoring, which is priced by pageviews. Most people asking what Pingdom costs mean Synthetic Monitoring, because that is the part that tells you a site is down.

The slider has more steps than this (1,500, 2,500, 3,000, 4,000, 7,500, 15,000, 20,000 and 25,000 checks), and they follow the same curve. The annual price is about 8.3 percent below the monthly one at every step, so annual billing on the 10 check tier saves $18 a year and on the 1,000 check tier about $1,297.

Three things in the table are worth reading slowly. The price per check barely moves: going from 10 checks to 1,000 only takes it from $1.80 to $1.30, so Pingdom does not reward scale much until you are into the thousands. The SMS allowance grows far slower than the checks, and it stops growing at 1,500 a month no matter how large the plan is. And there is no step between the published tiers, so needing 110 checks means paying for 200.

What is included in every Pingdom plan?

Every Synthetic Monitoring tier on the pricing page lists the same feature set: uptime monitoring, page speed monitoring, transaction monitoring, email and SMS alerting, maintenance windows, public status pages and reports, and unlimited users. The tiers differ only in how many uptime and advanced checks you get and how many SMS alerts come with them.

"Advanced checks" are Pingdom's transaction checks, scripted multi step tests such as logging in or adding an item to a cart. They are the expensive part of synthetic monitoring to run, which is why the allowance is small: 1 on the entry tier and 20 at 100 checks.

Unlimited users is a real advantage over monitors that charge per seat. A team of ten can share one account without the price changing.

What Pingdom does not include

The gaps matter more than the feature list if you are buying Pingdom to find out when a site is down at night.

• No voice calls. Pingdom alerts by email, SMS and push notifications to its mobile apps. A phone that rings needs a second tool, usually an incident management platform or an email to voice service.
• SMS is a monthly allowance, not unlimited. Each text to each phone uses one alert, and a flapping endpoint can use a month's entry allowance in one night. We worked through that arithmetic in detail in Pingdom SMS alerts and credit limits.
• Real User Monitoring is a separate bill. It starts at $18 a month for 100,000 pageviews ($16.50 annually) and reaches $352 a month for 5 million. Enterprise quotes cover 500,000 to over 5 million pageviews a month.
• There is no free plan on the pricing page. Pingdom offers a free trial that covers both Synthetics and RUM, then the paid tiers.

Is Pingdom worth the price?

For a small, stable set of sites watched by one person, yes. At $18 a month for 10 checks with page speed, transaction checks, status pages and unlimited users, Pingdom is fairly priced, and if a text is enough to get you out of bed you do not need anything else.

It gets harder to justify in three situations. The first is when you need a phone to ring, because then the real cost is Pingdom plus a paging tool. The second is when three or more people need every alert, because the SMS allowance is shared across them. The third is scale. Pingdom's price is roughly linear in checks, so an estate of several hundred endpoints costs several hundred dollars a month before any extras.

What does Pingdom cost at 25, 100 and 650 endpoints?

Here is the same monitoring job priced three ways, using Pingdom's published tiers and our own plans. TrackDowntime prices are monthly billing, with annual in brackets.

Be straight about what the table shows. At 5 or 25 endpoints Pingdom costs less than we do, and if you only need email and texts it is the cheaper buy. Around 200 endpoints on monthly billing, or about 100 on annual billing, the lines cross, because Enterprise covers unlimited endpoints at a flat price. At 650 endpoints Pingdom needs its 750 check tier at $999 a month, more than three times the Enterprise price, and still has no call.

The comparison is not like for like in every row. Pingdom checks from many probe servers, runs transaction and page speed tests and publishes status pages. TrackDowntime checks from a single location, has no status pages and no page speed or transaction monitoring. What you get instead is a phone call to every number on the endpoint that repeats while the site is down, SMS and email on every round, and no message ever billed. If transaction checks and status pages are the reason you use Pingdom, keep it.

How to lower a Pingdom bill

Before switching anything, most teams can take 20 to 40 percent off a Pingdom bill with housekeeping.

1. Delete checks on pages that cannot go down independently. Five checks on five pages served by the same server and the same database tell you the same thing five times. One check on the page that exercises the database is enough.
2. Drop to the tier you actually use. Because the tiers jump in steps, sitting at 210 checks puts you on the 300 check tier. Pruning ten checks can save $132 a month.
3. Switch to annual billing if the estate is stable. It is about 8.3 percent off.
4. Move page speed checks to a schedule. Page speed tests are useful weekly, not every minute.
5. Stop paying for checks on staging and preview environments that nobody is paged for.

If a large share of your incidents come from your own releases, it is also worth looking at how you deploy, since a pipeline that deploys sites with zero downtime removes a whole category of alerts that no monitor can prevent.

When to move off Pingdom

Move when the problem is alerting or scale rather than features. Specifically: when an outage has gone unanswered because nobody saw the text, when you need two or three people called on every alert, when you have been rationing SMS, or when your endpoint count has grown past a couple of hundred and the bill with it.

Moving is mostly copying URLs. List your Pingdom uptime checks, add each one as an endpoint with the same expected status code and a similar timeout, put the on-call numbers in the phone field, and run both monitors side by side for a week before you switch Pingdom's alerts off.
