Uptrends Pricing and Uptrends Cost per Monitor With Credits, SMS Limits and Contract Terms
Uptrends starts at $42 a month for Core and $60 for Pro on annual billing, priced in credits: 6 per uptime monitor, 50 per browser monitor. Cost per monitor, SMS credits, contract terms and where a flat plan costs less.
By TrackDowntime
Put an endpoint under monitoring
Email, Slack and webhook alerts on every plan, phone call and SMS from Professional. Plans from $49 a month.
Uptrends pricing starts at $42 a month for Core and $60 a month for Pro on annual billing, or $46 and $66 billed monthly, according to Uptrends' pricing page read on October 13, 2026. Enterprise is a custom quote. There is no fixed monitor count on any plan. You buy monitoring credits and spend them on monitors: 6 credits for an uptime monitor, 50 for a browser monitor, 50 for each transaction step and 15 for each API step.
That model is predictable once you know your monitor list, and it gets expensive quickly if all you need is to know whether URLs are up. This page lays out what each plan includes, what one uptime monitor costs, how the SMS and phone credits work, what the bill looks like at 5 to 650 monitors, and where a flat plan such as ours costs less.

How much does Uptrends cost per monitor?
Under the plan cards, Uptrends publishes a monitor pricing table. This is the part that decides your bill.
| Monitor type | Credits required | Price in Core | Price in Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uptime | 6 | $42 | $60 |
| Browser | 50 | $350 | $500 |
| Transaction step | 50 | Not available | $500 |
| API step | 15 | Not available | $150 |
Divide it out and a credit costs $7 on Core and $10 on Pro. Enterprise prices are custom.
The table does not print a period next to those prices, and that matters. Three things on the same page point to them being yearly. The FAQ describes credits as "your annual monitoring capacity". The plan prices are described as an annual commitment. And the page's own markup carries a per month figure for the uptime row of $4 on Core and $5 to $6 on Pro, which is $42 and $60 divided by twelve, with the 10 percent added for monthly billing.
Read that way, one uptime monitor costs $3.50 a month on Core and $5 a month on Pro, and the starting prices of $42 and $60 a month buy the credits for 12 uptime monitors. Not everyone reads it that way: at least one published vendor comparison treats the same $42 as a monthly price for a single monitor. The two readings are twelve times apart, so get the per monitor figure in writing during the trial before you put a number in a budget. Everything below uses the yearly reading, which is the one the page's own figures support.
What Uptrends costs at 5 to 650 uptime monitors
Uptime monitors only, annual billing, no browser or transaction checks. The Uptrends columns are monitors multiplied by the per monitor price, with the plan's starting price as the floor. Our prices are the published monthly ones; billed yearly they are $288, $588 and $1,788.
| Uptime monitors | Uptrends Core, 2 minute checks | Uptrends Pro, 1 minute checks | TrackDowntime |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | $42 | $60 | $49 Starter, 5 minute checks |
| 12 | $42 | $60 | $99 Professional, 60 second checks |
| 25 | $87.50 | $125 | $99 Professional |
| 50 | $175 | $250 | $299 Enterprise |
| 100 | $350 | $500 | $299 Enterprise |
| 650 | $2,275 | $3,250 | $299 Enterprise |
Two honest readings of that table. Below about 20 monitors Uptrends is the cheaper product and does far more. From 25 one minute monitors up, a flat plan is cheaper, and past 60 or so the gap is wide, because our Enterprise plan has no endpoint limit.
The moment you add anything beyond plain uptime checks, the Uptrends bill moves fast. One browser monitor is 50 credits, the same as eight uptime monitors. A five step checkout transaction on Pro is 250 credits, or $2,500 a year. That is fair pricing for real browser testing from 230 locations. It is a lot if the job is a phone call when the homepage returns a 500.
Uptrends SMS credits and phone call alerts
Core includes 240 SMS credits, Pro 600 and Enterprise 1,200. Uptrends' knowledge base says phone alerts and SMS messages draw on the same credits, that administrators are warned by SMS and email when 25 credits remain, and that once the credits are used "you have to purchase additional credits or we'll stop sending phone or SMS alerts".
Three things to check before relying on that at 3 a.m.:
- Whether the allowance resets. The pricing page lists the credits as a plan allowance and does not say per month. The knowledge base describes accounts starting with credits and buying more when they run out.
- Whether your plan includes voice calls. The Core card lists email alerts and SMS credits. The phone alert article still refers to older plan names, so confirm voice calling on Core with sales.
- How many people you alert. Each SMS or call to each operator uses credits, so a rotation of four people spends the allowance four times as fast as one person does.
For comparison, we do not meter alerts at all. On Professional and Enterprise every phone number on an endpoint gets the call and the SMS, and alerts repeat at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes, then at 2, 4, 8, 24, 48 and 96 hours, until the endpoint recovers. The downtime alerts by phone call page has the schedule, and website monitoring with SMS alerts covers the text side.
Contract terms, renewal and cancellation
Uptrends sells an annual commitment by default. Its FAQ says credits "do not expire within your annual term", that the allocation resets at renewal, and that the minimum commitment "represents reserved monitoring capacity". It also says it does not apply overage charges without agreement, which is a real point in its favor against usage billed tools.
Closing a paid account is done by support ticket, and monitoring data is kept for 14 days after deactivation. Reviewers on Capterra and Software Advice report a 12 month contract with a 90 day termination notice. The service agreement now sits on the legal pages of ITRS, which owns Uptrends, so read the current version and note the notice date before you sign.
If uptime evidence feeds an audit, the retention column matters as much as the price: 180 days on Core does not cover a 12 month review period. Teams that track that kind of obligation in compliance management software should check that the monitoring history outlasts the audit window. Our own retention is 30 days on Starter, 90 on Professional and unlimited on Enterprise, and every plan can produce an uptime report per endpoint with a CSV export.
Where Uptrends is the better buy
Plenty of places, and it would be dishonest to skip them.
- Checks from many locations. 230+ checkpoints you can pick by city, against checks from one monitoring network here. If you need to prove an outage was regional, Uptrends can and we cannot.
- Browser, transaction and multi step API monitoring. We check that a URL answers with the expected status code, in time, with a valid certificate. We do not run a browser or script a login.
- Status pages, SLA monitoring and RUM. None of those are in our product.
- Small monitor counts. At 5 to 15 uptime monitors, Core or Pro costs less than our Professional plan and checks more often than our Starter plan.
- Longer history on lower tiers. 180 and 365 days against our 30 and 90.
When a flat uptime plan costs less than Uptrends
- 25 or more URLs that only need an uptime check. Professional covers 25 endpoints every 60 seconds for $99 a month, against $125 on Uptrends Pro. Enterprise covers unlimited endpoints for $299, against $500 for 100 monitors and $3,250 for 650.
- Alerts you do not want to count. No credit balance, no top ups, and no outage where the texts stop because the allowance ran out.
- No annual commitment. Our plans are monthly unless you choose yearly.

Uptrends pricing questions
How much does Uptrends cost per month?
Uptrends starts at $42 a month for Core and $60 a month for Pro on annual billing, or $46 and $66 on monthly billing. Enterprise is quoted by sales. The total depends on credits: each uptime monitor needs 6, each browser monitor 50, each transaction step 50 and each API step 15.
What is a monitoring credit in Uptrends?
A monitoring credit is the unit Uptrends uses to price monitors. A credit costs $7 on Core and $10 on Pro per the pricing table. Credits can be moved between monitor types at any time, are freed when you delete a monitor, and according to Uptrends represent annual capacity that resets at renewal.
Does Uptrends have a free plan?
The pricing page lists three paid plans and a 30 day free trial with no credit card and full Enterprise access. Uptrends also runs free one time tools such as an uptime check and a speed test. Treat the trial, not a free tier, as the way to test it.
How many SMS alerts does Uptrends include?
Core includes 240 SMS credits, Pro 600 and Enterprise 1,200. Phone alerts use the same credits. When they run out, Uptrends stops sending SMS and phone alerts until you buy more, and it warns administrators when 25 credits remain.
Is Uptrends billed monthly or annually?
Both are offered. Annual billing is the default and carries a 10 percent discount; monthly billing raises Core from $42 to $46 and Pro from $60 to $66. Uptrends describes the plan as an annual commitment of reserved capacity, so ask what monthly billing changes about the term.
Is Uptrends cheaper than Pingdom?
Not for plain uptime checks. Pingdom starts at $18 a month for 10 uptime checks, against a $42 starting price at Uptrends, and every extra Uptrends uptime monitor adds $3.50 to $5 a month. Uptrends is priced for teams that also want browser and transaction monitoring from many locations.
Choosing between Uptrends and a flat plan
If you need browser journeys, multi step API tests, regional checkpoints or a status page, Uptrends earns its price and Pro is the plan to trial. If you have 25 or more URLs that need a one minute uptime check and a phone that keeps ringing until someone fixes the problem, create a TrackDowntime account, add the endpoints, list every number that should get the call, and break a test page to hear it work.
