Site24x7 is cheaper than StatusCake for plain uptime checks up to 25 websites, and StatusCake Superior is cheaper from 26 monitors up to 300. Site24x7 Web Uptime is $10 a month ($9 billed yearly) for 25 websites checked every minute. StatusCake Superior is $24.49 a month ($20.41 yearly) for 100 monitors at 1 minute checks with 75 SMS credits. The bigger difference is how each one bills phone alerts, and that decides which is cheaper for an on-call team.
Both are good, inexpensive monitors, and we sell a competing one. We state that up front and show where each wins. Prices below were read from site24x7.com and statuscake.com on 2026-10-25 and are in USD. Our fuller breakdowns are in the Site24x7 pricing guide and the StatusCake pricing guide.
How do Site24x7 and StatusCake pricing compare side by side?
| Site24x7 Web Uptime | StatusCake Superior | StatusCake Business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $10 | $24.49 | $79.99 |
| Yearly price, per month | $9 | $20.41 | $66.66 |
| Monitors included | 25 websites | 100 | 300 |
| Check interval | 1 minute | 1 minute | 30 seconds |
| Extra monitors | $18 a month per 50, $140 per 500 | Next tier or quote | Quote above 300 |
| Free tier | Up to 50 resources, email alerts | 10 monitors, 5 minute checks | Same |
| SMS and voice | Credits, 50 a month listed for Web Uptime | 75 SMS credits | 400 SMS credits |
| Status pages | 3 included on Web Uptime | Separate product from $12.46 a month | Same |
Read the table by what you are buying. Site24x7 prices by monitor count, so a small estate is very cheap. StatusCake prices by tier, so the first 100 monitors are one flat price, and there is no published step above 300.
Which is cheaper at 5, 25, 100, 300 and 650 monitors?
| Monitors | Site24x7 Web Uptime, monthly | StatusCake, monthly | StatusCake, yearly per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | $10 | $0 on Free (no SMS) or $24.49 on Superior | $20.41 |
| 25 | $10 | $24.49 | $20.41 |
| 100 | $46 (base plus 2 packs of 50) | $24.49 | $20.41 |
| 300 | $118 (base plus 6 packs of 50) | $79.99 | $66.66 |
| 650 | $204 (base, one 500 pack, 3 packs of 50) | Enterprise quote | Enterprise quote |
Site24x7 wins up to 25 monitors, because the $10 base covers that many. From 26 monitors StatusCake Superior is cheaper (at 50 monitors Site24x7 is $28 against $24.49), and at 300 it stays cheaper by about $38 a month. Above 300 you cannot price StatusCake without a call, while Site24x7's add-on packs are published, which makes budgeting easier.
Site24x7 prices its pack add-ons per month without a separate annual rate, so its column is monthly throughout. If you pay StatusCake yearly, the gap widens in its favor from 100 monitors on.
How do Site24x7 and StatusCake charge for SMS and phone call alerts?
Both meter alerts. Neither repeats them the way a paging tool does.
- Site24x7 uses credits. One SMS is 1 credit. A voice call to a US or Canadian number is 1 credit, and 2 outside the US. The plan comparison lists 50 SMS and voice credits a month for Web Uptime, and unused credits carry over. More come as alert packs.
- StatusCake uses SMS credits on paid plans: 75 on Superior and 400 on Business. Phone calls run through an integration on a contact group, and its knowledge base says calls do not repeat and are limited to one per five minutes per account. SMS does not repeat either. Email and push alerts do.
For a team of three who each get a call and a text on every outage, Site24x7 spends 6 credits per outage, so 50 credits cover about 8 outages. StatusCake texts three people for 3 credits per outage, so 75 credits cover about 25 outages, but nobody gets a second ring if the first is missed.
That is the real fork. Site24x7 gives you a call that costs credits. StatusCake gives you more text capacity and a call that fires once. If a missed first call is the failure you cannot afford, neither alone solves it. A monitor whose phone call downtime alerts repeat until recovery does.
Which features does each include that the other does not?
Site24x7 includes 32 check locations, status pages, multi-step transaction monitoring on higher plans, and a path into server, cloud and network monitoring under the same account. It is a full observability suite from ManageEngine, so the uptime plan is an entry point.
StatusCake bundles page speed, domain and SSL monitors and a few server monitors in each tier, which makes Superior good value at about $20 a month. Its drawbacks are the separate status page subscription and a renewal clause asking for 70 days notice before the date. Teams that want contracts reviewed before auto-renewal can run them through contract management software so a tool nobody uses does not renew for another year.
When is Site24x7 the better buy, and when is StatusCake?
Choose Site24x7 when you have 25 or fewer monitors, want status pages included, need many check locations, or expect to add servers and applications later.
Choose StatusCake when you have 26 to 300 monitors on one plan, want page speed and domain checks in the same bill, or want a free plan to start. Plan for the status page cost and the renewal notice.
When TrackDowntime fits instead
Neither tool is built around repeating phone calls to a list of people with no per message meter. We are not cheap on entry. Starter is $49 a month for 5 endpoints with email, Slack and webhook only. Professional is $99 a month ($588 yearly) for 25 endpoints at 60 second checks, 90 days of history, and calls and SMS to every listed number. Enterprise is $299 a month ($1,788 yearly) for unlimited endpoints.
On every plan with phone alerts, each listed number is contacted at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes, then 2, 4, 8, 24, 48 and 96 hours until the endpoint recovers. Alerts are never billed per message.
The limits are real. We check from a single network, with no multi-location confirmation, status pages, keyword or browser checks. If you need those, Site24x7 is the better choice. If you are leaving StatusCake over alerting, see our StatusCake alternative page and the plans.
